AFTER WATCHING THE ACTUAL GAME, (DOZZING): WHEN I SAW THE 1ST REPLAYS, I WENT FROM THE BEDROOM TO THE LIVING ROOM, TO TRY TO “RE-WATCH” THE REPLAYS, AGAIN: BUT THE TV NETWORK, NEVER SHOWED IT AGAIN, AS ME AND MY WIFE WATCHED ALL THE 25-45 MINUTES OR SO, BEFORE THE GAME WAS “CALLED-CANCELLED”!!
SO, I SAW IT THIS MORNING AND IN THE “MARTIAL ARTS” INDUSTRIES AND “KICK BOXING” MOVES THERE IS SOMETHING CALLED: Heart Stopper Karate Punch
ITS THE 1ST/FIRST THING I THOUGHT ABOUT!!! IT IS NO WONDER, THE VIDEO IS “RESTRICTED” AND ONLY BEING SHOWN BY “AGE APPROVED” WATCHING: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1Z9Vd53yhI)
I AM NOT SURE, BUT, IN “MARTIAL ARTS COMPETITIONS”, I BELIEVE THE “HEART STOPPER/HEART PUNCH” HAS BEEN RULED “OUTLAWED”???
I REMEMBERED THE “HEART STOPPER/HEART PUNCH” FROM MY OWN “LONGTIME AGO=”MARTIAL ARTS” TRAINING AND IT WAS SOMETHING PRETTY MUCH, “ONLY” USED IN A “LIFE/DEATH”=”SELF-DEFENSE” AND THERE HAVE BEEN “SEVERAL FILMS AND OTHER “TV” INSTANCES OF USAGES OF THE “HEART STOPPER/HEART PUNCH”!!
IT REALLY IS A “”TEACHING MOMENT” FOR “ALL FOOTBALL” EQUIPMENT INVENTORS AND THE “NFL” TO LEAD/LEARN AND MAKE SOME “HISTORICAL ADJUSTMENTS TO THEIR “SHOULDER PADS” AND “THAT AREAS” OF THE “PROTECTIVE PADDING AND COVERAGE’S”!!
THE MEDICAL TERMS OF THE “HEART STOPPAGE”, IS CALLED: Commotio cordis
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commotio_cordis
AND, IT’S A GREAT MIRACLE THAT, WHAT HAPPENED, TO THE YOUNG DAMAR HAMLIN, HAS NOT BEEN HAPPENING MORE OFTEN, OR ITS NOT BEEN WIDELY REPORTED, AS HAVE HAPPENED?>//!! BUT, IT ALMOST TAKES A “VERY PRECISE STRIKE/HIT/TRAUMATIC ” BLOW TO THE HEART AREA TO “CAUSE THE HEART STOPPER/HEART PUNCH”!!! MOST GREAT MARTIAL ARTS PEOPLE WILL “KNOW OF THIS”!!!
IN THE “MOVIE CALLED “Enter the Dragon”=THE GREAT “Bruce Lee”, USED “THE HEART STOPPER/HEART PUNCH” SEVERAL TIMES. AND IN THE MOVIE “5/FIVE FINGERS OF DEATH” THE HEART STOPPER/HEART PUNCH” WAS USED SEVERAL TIMES.
LASTLY: THIS WILL SHOWCASE MY “AGE” LOL AND “U.S.” OLD CODGERS, REMEMBER A “PRO WRESTLER” NAMED Ox Baker=WHOSE “SIGNATURE DIRTY MOVE WAS: finishing move, the Heart Punch, sometimes called the “Hurt Punch”,
Douglas Albert Baker Sr. (April 19, 1934 – October 20, 2014) was an American professional wrestler and actor, better known professionally as Ox Baker. He was famous for his distinctive eyebrows and finishing move, the Heart Punch, sometimes called the “Hurt Punch”, after Baker’s famous catchphrase “I love to hurt people!”. He appeared in several movies including Blood Circus and Escape from New York…CONT…
THE “VERY THIN”/ CHEST AREA OF WHERE A “BLOW” TO “TRAUMATIZE THE HEART”, WAS WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE, AFTER I RE-WATCHED AND WATCHED REPLAYS OF WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUNG DAMAR HAMLIN AND I DO “PRAY FOR HIM, HIS FAMILY, AND FRIENDS, AND ALL THE PLAYERS AND SPORTS PLAYERS AROUND THE WORLD!!!
IT’S PRETTY MUCH, A SITUATION WHERE ODDS OF A “LOTTERY WIN”, OF A “PERFECT STORM” AND “TARGETED EXPERT BLOW” HAS TO HAPPEN, FOR WHAT DID HAPPEN, TO OCCUR!!!???///
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commotio_cordis
AGAIN: WE ALL MUST BE REMINDED THAT “THESE GREAT YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN ARE NOT “ROBOTS”, “NOT MACHINES”, “ARE HUMAN BEINGS” WITH FAMILIES/FRIENDS/REAL LIVES AND ALTHOUGH “WE”/”U.S.” ALL, PLACE THEM UPON PEDESTALS, THE MOST IMPORTANT TEACHING/EDUCATIONAL MOMENTS OF THIS “ONE/1” IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE “CTE” AND “CONCUSSION PROTOCOLS”!!!
Commotio cordis (Latin, “agitation of the heart”) is an often lethal disruption of heart rhythm that occurs as a result of a blow to the area directly over the heart (the precordial region) at a critical time during the cycle of a heart beat, producing what is termed an R-on-T phenomenon that leads to the condition. It is a form of ventricular fibrillation (V-Fib), not mechanical damage to the heart muscle or surrounding organs, and not the result of heart disease. The survival rate is 58%, which is an increase in comparison to years 1993–2012, where only 34% of victims survived. This increase is likely caused by prompt CPR, access to defibrillation and higher public awareness of this condition.[1]
Commotio cordis occurs mostly in boys and young men (average age 15), usually during sports, most frequently baseball, often despite a chest protector. It is usually caused by a projectile, but can also be caused by the blow of an elbow or other body part. Being less developed, the thorax of an adolescent is likely more prone to this injury given the circumstances.
The phenomenon was confirmed experimentally in the 1930s, with research in anaesthetized rabbits, cats and dogs.[2]
