Sol’s Journey South
The big day finally arrived last week! It was time for our second Alpha vehicle, Sol, to make its way from the Sierra Nevada Mountains down to its new coastal home in San Diego.
The journey began in Reno, NV, where our Mechanical and Industrial Designer Lou Dietz led assembly of Sol’s composite body structure over the past few weeks. Our engineering team was given the important job of transporting Sol safely back to our production facility. There, Aptera’s electronics and interior will be completed before finally receiving a pearly white vinyl color wrap.
In addition to the distance traveled, this trip is hugely significant for Aptera. It means we’re one step closer to making our vision a reality and creating a healthier future for people and the planet. We now have two solar electric vehicles, proving that it’s possible to make radical changes that impact efficiency and set new standards for the automotive industry.
In Case You Missed It
Aptera headed to the Barona Drag Strip recently, where we conducted a series of tests including acceleration, braking, durability, and speed. We could not be more pleased with the initial results. Tune in to the video below for a message from Co-CEO Chris Anthony, not to mention some incredible footage of our Noir vehicle in action.
Happy Weekend!
