Procurement process to begin for approximately $20M in annual federal funds to provide employment and training services at American Job Centers RFP 101 Workshops on September 29, 2022, will outline RFP process Organizations specializing in employment and training are encouraged to learn more about the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for approximately $20 million of annual federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding earmarked for Southern Nevada. The annual WIOA Title I Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth allocation funds the provision of employment and training services at local American Job Centers (AJCs). These services aim to address the evolving needs of employers and job seekers. Each program year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 of the following year. Contracts that are awarded through this RFP will begin on July 1, 2023, and can be extended for up to three additional program years.Contracts to provide services at local AJCs will be awarded via this competitive RFP process administered by Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board. Workforce Connections convenes the One-Stop Delivery System in Clark, Nye, Lincoln, and Esmeralda counties.Some of the AJCs are staffed primarily to serve employers and other AJCs are staffed primarily to serve job seekers. Target labor pools will include those who are unemployed, underemployed, in need of training/education, disconnected youth, veterans, people with disabilities, and those who will be re-entering the workforce after incarceration or long periods of unemployment. The RFP will be released October / November 2022 on the Workforce Connections website.Organizations wanting to learn more about the RFP process are encouraged to attend one of two RFP 101 Workshops on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon or 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Workforce Connections, 6330 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 150, Las Vegas, NV 89146. The RFP 101 Workshops will cover how to respond to the upcoming RFPs, what evaluators are looking for and how to avoid common mistakes. The workshops will also address the procurement process and allow representatives to ask questions directly to Workforce Connections staff.
