The total count for statewide deaths on the first tab may not equal the sum of the cumulative daily death counts because of cases where exact date of death is unknown or pending report. [APRIL 13, 2020] The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services launched a data dashboard that focuses on skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. This updated tool will provide the public with additional detailed information on COVID-19 cases throughout the State, and enable these facilities to prepare and protect employees and those housed at these facilities. To see the new dashboard, click HERE.[APRIL 13, 2020] The Silver State Health Insurance Exchange extended the exceptional circumstance special enrollment period on the Nevada Health Link an additional month, moving the closure from April 15, 2020 to May 15, 2020. This provides Nevadans that missed the original Open Enrollment Period access to insurance plans during this time of uncertainty. For more information, visit the Nevada Health Link.[APRIL 13, 2020] Nevada Attorney General Ford and U.S. Attorney Nicholas Trutanich formed the Nevada COVID-19 Task Force to combat general fraud, health care fraud, Medicaid Fraud, insurance fraud, workers’ compensation fraud and cybercrime, among others, to protect Nevadans from those using the pandemic to scare or take advantage of consumers. The Task Force is made up of local, state, and federal investigators and prosecutors. You can also see the signed AG LETTERhere.STATE OF NEVADA COVID- 19 UPDATESPage 3STATUS OF FEDERAL REQUESTSTest Kits•CDC’s International Reagent Resources (IRR) website is fulfilling reagent requests.•Nevada has received 3,000 reagent kits and 4,000 test swabs from HHS. Note: Test kitsacquiredby community organizations, hospitals, private labs and entities through purchase or donation cannot be tracked by the State of Nevada.PPE(Personal Protective Equipment)•Nevada received the 3rdand final push of PPE from the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS).•Nevada has distributed a majority of the federal SNS PPE based upon a Regional Distribution System to the 3 Local Health Authorities and rural counties last week. •Note: The State of Nevada stockpile inventory of PPE has been distributed to the 3 Local Health Authorities (LHAs) and rural counties on a needs-based and population-based proportion based on the 2018 Census Bureau estimates. As new shipments are delivered from federal agencies, they will continue to be distributed throughout the State. Other•Nevada received 150 ventilators from the SNS through FEMA on April 10, 2020. On Wednesday, April 8, Nevada received a loan from Cal OES for 50 California state-owned ventilators for three weeks at no cost.•HHS will direct additional ventilators to the state approximately 72 hours prior to the anticipated need.WHAT NEVADANS CAN DO TO HELPFACE COVERINGS As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our health care systems, both nationally and right here in Nevada, it has become increasingly important to slow the spread.
