Businesses and property owners within the area bordered by Owens Avenue to the north, U.S. 95 and Martin L. King Boulevard to the west, are eligible to be considered for a mural. The murals will beautify the environment and promote community engagement. Professional artists will be engaged to create the murals at chosen locations “These new murals will add to the beauty of the Historic Westside as we continue to add new programs and amenities to Ward 5,” Councilman Cedric Crear said. “The Historic Westside has long been, and continues to be, an arts and culture center in the city, and these new murals will be a wonderful addition.” Interested property owners must submit a letter of interest that includes business and mural location information and an image of the proposed mural space by 6 p.m. on Nov.30, 2022.
