Q1 HOW DO YOU WORK WITHIN FAMILIES THAT MAY QUESTION THE UTILIZATION OF “CREMATION” VS “TRADITIONAL FUNERALS”?

Most of the families that come to us already understand the process of cremation in comparison to traditional burial. For those that may question why cremation is an option, our approach is simply to educate them on what creamtion is, and why it is a viable option for many people. Approximately 80% of all the deaths in the state of Nevada for the past several years are cremated (#1 in the nation). Cremation is less expensive than traditional burial, but many of the other services that most people associate with a funeral service can be done with a cremation, including memorial service, viewing, ect. Even burial is an option, but instead of the full body buried in a casket, the urn with the deceased person’s remains can be buried in the ground or in a mausoleum. For us, it’s a matter of letting families know that there are options, and cremation is one of them.

Q2 WHAT IS THE COST/$$ SAVINGS OF “CREMATION” VS FUNERAL COSTS FOR TODAY’S FAMILIES?

The average cost of a funeral, according to the National Funeral Director’s Association, is between $7,000 to $12,000. This includes viewing and basic service fees, transporting remains to a funeral home, casket, embalming, and other preparation. Often times, these costs DO NOT include a cemetery, monument, marker, or miscellaneous items like flowers. The cost of a direct cremation without a service or memorial can average anywhere from $700 – $3000. The price goes up if services are added like a memorial, embalming for viewing prior to cremation, etc, which could drive the price up to around $6000 – $7000. Cremation, regardless of the added services, will still be much less than a traditional burial.

Las Vegas is a very melting pot of individuals coming from all over the world to live. It is a big destination for the retired community, who still have family living in other parts of the nation and world. Inspired Life has the ability to offer online and virtual arrangements for families that are unable to come to Las Vegas to handle the business of a deceased loved one. We also are able to ship cremated remains anywhere in the world, so families can have piece of mind, and not have the stress of trying to figure out how to get their loved ones’ cremated remains to them. One unique and amazing service that we have at INSPIRED LIFE is that, for the Hispanic and Latin community, especially for families in Mexico and Central America, we have the ability to transport deceased loved ones to the border of Mexico by ground. Many families want to bury their loved ones in their home country, and with Inspired Life’s connections with the Mexico consulate and others, we are giving families an affordable option by transporting by ground versus by air.

According to a 2015 study by the Funeral and Memorial Information Council 89% of people feel a discussion about their end-of-life wishes would be meaningful, and 69% of those would prefer to pre-arrange their own service. However, only 17% of those surveyed made arrangements. While this study isn’t directly related to people of color, I would confidently assume that the numbers are decidedly worse for people of color.

Terry, “the Warrior” Reece was born in Texarkana, Arkansas and raised in Texarkana, Texas. He attended Liberty-Eylau High School and Played and Starred in Basketball, although he earlier played Football and performed in Track & Field. Mr. Reece moved to Dallas Texas in 1979 and Worked his way upwards for a Well Know Automotive Service & Tire Company and worked at the South Oak Cliff, DALLAS, TEXAS; location for about 14 years, where he Built up a Positive Reputation of a “Tech Specialist”/”Master Technician/Working Service Manager/Licensed Texas State vehicle Inspector. “Forcibly-Retired” and “Discriminated Against” in Pay, and Company Recognition Listings and “Threatened, with a Dime-IN-A-Desk”, by arrogant/upper Management of that Automotive Company; MR. Reece had to utilize his $50,000 worth of his Mechanic’s tools and his 1976 Chevy PU Truck and began working as a Mobil Mechanic, then Built that to open his 1st Downtown Dallas Shop called “Jet Automotive” and very Soon, All of His Longtime Customer left that Former Major Automotive Company’s Locations and Followed Mr. Reece to his New Location on “Gould Street, in Dallas, near Downtown. Reece served on the P & Z Board of Adjustment for the City of Lancaster, Texas and the City of Cedar Hill Texas and helped walk the streets of South Lancaster Rd. in Dallas to help with Informing Businesses of the “Coming of DART” the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority and D.A.R.T. Railway Systems, which you see today in Dallas (This was done for his State Senator, Royce West’s Open Meetings for the Communities, along the Proposed Routes of DART). MR. Reece became “Certified as a M.B.E.” and received some Contracts with The General Services Commissions Certifications for the Dallas County Schools, and others, and when Mr. Reece Opened a Courier/Delivery Company in 1996/1997 he Delivered, to The DFW International Airport Board, The City of Dallas, Texas, Companies like Frito Lay, Coke-Cola, too many Judges and Attorneys and other Corporations to name; All around the DFW Metro Areas. In 1993-1994/1995 Mr. Reece was “THE” Sub-Contracted Company that Helped “Automotive Technology Services, Inc.” receive the “Only Texas Department of Commerce; Smart Jobs Grant ever obtained by a Minority Company” and MR. Reece, acted as “the ACTING DIRECTOR of EDUCATION” where he wrote the “Curricula”, Recruited the Students; Women/& Men, Wrote the Student Handbook, Wrote the “Student Handbooks” and Sometimes “Taught and Trained the Students in “Ft.
