This past FEW WEEKS, during the USVETS STAND DOWN event at the Big League Dreams Sports Park, I discovered two people, along with many others who have “Personal Success Stories”. WE WILL CHRONICLE THESE AND OTHER “POSITIVE SUCCESS” STORIES, WITHIN THE NEXT FEW ARTICLES OF: © A Life Full of Testimonies
Bob A. and Eddie V. are both Veterans and one is a Younger Man, and the other is an Older Man. Both have gone through the USVETS Programs, and Housing programs with “Success Stories to testify about.
1st: Bob A. is a retired Veteran, and has an Intermediate form of PTSD. Bob A. is a Double Success story. He is attending PITA/Professional Institute of Technology and Accounting, and is a product of USVETS. BOB has a “Service Dog” and had severe shaking hands and mental concentration and attention issues, before attending PITA, and he told me he was “hyped-down” on toxic, OPIOIDS TYPE medications (prescribed to keep him feeling and acting like a walking/living Zombie-human ). Bob; is now off the “toxic type medications, and me and my wife met his beautiful wife and Bob volunteered with me at the USVETS Stand Down this Year, as A Student from PITA SUCCESS and USVETS Success, BOB HAS/IS A “LIVING TESTIMONY”.
2ND: Eddie V. did not attend PITA, but did House within the USVETS Housing program, and as was BOB V., EDDIE V.N WAS, ONCE, Homeless. Eddie V. now lives in his own apartment along with his family and as a much younger man, he volunteered also, with the USVETS Stand Down event, and is (1)=ONE, very smart young man.
3RD: Steveie Taylor:
Another Double Success Story. A USVETS recipient and a PITA/Professional Institute of Technology And Accounting Student & Intern.
My name is Steveie Taylor, I am from Shreveport/Bossier City Louisiana. My mother named me after the great musician, Stevie Wonder, and Moses Malone the basketball hall of fame-er. I have one child my son Jaylen Taylor which, I named him after the basketball player Jalen Rose, what can I say my family like playing basketball. My biography begins at the age of fourteen, I never was afraid of work my first job was busing tables at the China Inn Restaurant in Bossier City Louisiana, Ms. Nancy was my boss and she was so cool, and she helped me develop as a young man. I had a difficult time in middle school making passing grades, so I only had a seventh grade education when my mother and I decided to look for alternative solutions for my education. My mom enrolled me in the Louisiana National Guard Youth Challenge Program. Through YCP I was able to obtain my G.E.D, and acquired skills as a Journeyman Carpenter, from airborne rangers and infantry soldiers for the National Guard.
I was upset as a young man that I could not excel in regular school, most of my early grade school education came from church, and my grandfather was a minister, so I learned how to read, write, and count money in Sunday school. After graduating from YCP I worked as an entry level carpenter for about a year or so, when I became of age I knew I want to join the military, during this time I worked as a warehouse laborer for Red River Supply. It was a small family own business, the owner Rick Tully was a businessman, who hired me on; I was able to buy my first car working at Red River Supply.
While working at Red River Supply I was doing ok for the moment, but after my experience at YCP I knew in my heart I wanted more to life. April of 2001 I sign up for the US Navy, I figured working for Uncle Sam I could establish a career outside of the fact of not having a basic education, and not having experience the high school status. I was looking around my community, which wasn’t the worst, nor the best at this time, but I knew I wanted adventure, be careful what you ask for, because you just might get it. I believe that to be a true statement, you have to choose wisely.
I sign up for the Navy April 2001, my scheduled leave date was September 20, 2001. 9 days after the 9/11 war began. After boot Camp at US Naval Great lakes in Chicago Illinois, I was rapidly expedited to my duty station onboard the USS Enterprise CVN 65 ported in Norfolk Va. After a heavy shipyard building schedule the Enterprise was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea to participate in the current 9/11 war 2003/2004. After our deployment my four year term was coming to a close. I wanted to continue my naval career, but after several traumatic events I decided to quietly transition out the military September 20, 2005 I was honorable discharged. I have confidence in my skills I have obtained over the course of my career. I am a combatant personal man, with skills as a firefighter, security patrolman, administrator, and boxer. My goal is to become a business owner. My purpose is to have a business that administrates health care solutions in the form of monetary advice, agriculture, basic physical health knowledge, and up hold the overall value of humanity, on a world wide spectrum.
